Spring Fever
The sun and the moon
The stars and the sky
Are calling to me
And I must fly.
The wind and the clouds
The waves on the sea
Are luring me onward
Wherever I be.
The road and the mountains
The wind, cry, "Away!"
They're calling me forth
I cannot stay.
Child World
Silver rain and falling tears,
Whispered hopes, forgotten fears,
Yellow sun and shining eyes,
Turquoise lakes and apple pies,
Fleecy clouds and fluffy cats,
Moonless nights and cowboy hats,
Tuneless songs and baby games,
Fairy tales and made-up names,
Chocolate bars and orange ice cream,
Trucks and dolls and wading streams,
Bedtime stories, teddy bears,
Goodnight kisses, evening prayers,
Picnics, puddles, breezes mild -
The wondrous world of a little child.
Things
I spent the day with little things -
The flowers and the trees,
The brook and all the bees,
The sunlight up above,
Just feeling full of love.
I spent the day with nature's things -
The birds and squirrels there
Wind gentle in my hair
I touched the sky so tall -
Not little things at all.
