The fairy tales
you told me
When I was
just a kid
I'm finding out
were all just lies
Santa Claus was dad
The Easter bunny doesn't
lay eggs for anybody
Thanksgiving is a turkey
And the guy I met
in San Francisco
who calls himself
the Tooth Fairy
wears dentures.
May Blizzard
The calendar says it's spring.
From now on I shall
take heed
And not believe
everything
That I read.
untitled
Halfway around the world
Across the country
Or beside me at the table
You are so far away
from me -
and I miss you
miss you
miss you
Those who say
we can't miss what we never had -
they lie
they lie
they lie
